You can defend yourself a few reasonable believe that you’re in harms way. Furthermore check out the definition between assault and battery. As to the videos that the man shared about the dogs attacking him, a person could reasonably assume that those dogs presented a harmful situation, and that man did everything reasonably expected to back those dogs off. He yelled at them and use non-lethal pepper spray to deter them. And my final point is, we are not all in public all the time, we have boundaries and those dogs clearly went outside their boundaries.
