Excited to support The LOT Project through the @DukeEnergy Foundation and for the collaboration with Leadership Anderson that helped make it possible. Great things happen when a community comes together to support such important work.
Last week the @DukeEnergy Foundation partnered with @TreesUpstateSC for another successful tree giveaway at the World of Energy. With so much work to do, we had to bring in some very important helpers.
To strengthen communities across South Carolina as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Duke Energy Foundation is awarding $275,000 to nonprofit organizations through a first round of funding as part of its America250 initiative.
“As we look back on our country’s 250-year anniversary, it’s an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history while working to support the next generation. We are proud to partner with local organizations who can help care for the Palmetto State now, so future generations can enjoy its beauty. Together, we can create lasting impact in the communities where we live and work.” - Tim Pearson, Duke Energy South Carolina president.

“Being a lineworker at Duke Energy means standing on the front lines when it matters most – when our customers need their lives restored to normal,” said Brandon Duncan, a senior journeyman lineworker assigned to the company’s Clemson Operations Center. “It's a job built on grit, teamwork, and pride, where every line restored is a promise kept to the communities we serve.”

Yesterday a team from @DukeEnergy spent the morning cleaning up the area around Warpath Landing on Lake Keowee. This is just one of the ways we are celebrating #America250 and our commitment to the communities we serve.

It’s critical that we continue to invest in reliable, around-the-clock generation and grid infrastructure as demand continues to grow.

South Carolina is growing fast. To keep up with growing energy demand, we’re proposing a new natural gas plant in Anderson County that will power homes and businesses for generations. We recently had a chance to meet with residents about the project. https://t.co/029CqbJttA.
Once again this spring the @DukeEnergy Foundation is accepting applications to support emergency preparation in SC. Since 2022 the foundation has funded nearly 140 grants to these critical partners across the state.

Thank you to the community members who came out last night to our Meet and Greet about the Anderson combined cycle natural gas project.
The casual meet-and-greet event was postponed by Winter Storm Fern and the rescheduled event featured tables with information and graphics with more than two dozen Duke Energy experts and support staff available to answer any questions about the project.
Our team appreciated the opportunity to share more about the project to nearby residents and customers. We believe the proposed project is the right resource with the right conceptual design at the right time at the right site. Adding proven new natural gas technology to the electric grid acknowledges and responds to the efforts of state leaders to address tremendous electricity generation needs as part of a reliable and diverse energy mix that includes new and existing nuclear technology, renewables, battery storage, additional natural gas and energy efficiency programs.

The impacts of Winter Storm Fern caused us to reschedule this event, so we are excited about this opportunity to share more about this project with the community.
I hope we see you at the Anderson Civic Center on February 16th!

Duke Energy is urging customers in the Carolinas to reduce energy use during periods of peak demand on Monday, Feb. 2, from 4-10 a.m., to help lessen the energy demand on the power grid and reduce the potential of isolated power outages. https://t.co/xvvQuZxn7i.
Today in the Upstate crews worked on final repairs from Winter Storm Fern. Thank you to the impacted @DukeEnergy customers for your patience and support!

Emergency situations tend to bring out the bad actors which is the case with the scam text message below. Remember to never click a link from numbers you don’t know, contact @DukeEnergy directly to verify the information, and only trust info from our official channels.
This is a helpful explanation of the different ways that ice accumulation impacts trees and power lines, and why sleet is a welcome alternative to freezing rain.
Operations centers and base camps are continuing to prepare for Winter Storm Fern Saturday, making sure that crews and equipment are ready when called upon.
More than 18,000 workers from nearly 30 states will be in the Carolinas as part of @DukeEnergy’s response.
Thanks to our friends in Anderson County for their continued support of Duke Energy storm response. The Civic Center has been a critical staging area for trucks, equipment and personnel for many storms over the years, and #Fern is no different. And thanks for sharing the cool drone video!

Additional crews and equipment are already arriving at a basecamp in Anderson this afternoon, with more to come throughout the weekend.
This is just one of the many sites across the Carolinas @DukeEnergy is staging resources in preparation to respond to Winter Storm Fern.
