@KC_Gadouuu@onlysmartbrain@LiviuHuluta@BrankoMilan The statement was about cultural power, not political. Clearly the USSR was highly influential geopolitically, as the whole world organized around a bipolar world. But that does not detract from the fact that its culture was eclipsed globally by Western culture.
@onlysmartbrain@LiviuHuluta@BrankoMilan Oh yeah? Who outside the Soviet bloc followed Russian popular culture? Name one internationally-renowned artist in any field from that era who was not or did not become a dissident. pre-Soviet literature, classical music and dance do not count
@LiviuHuluta@BrankoMilan Don’t forget that Waterloo was not just a Franco-British thing: without the Prussians it would have been another string to Napoleon’s bow
@messedupfoods Advise the wait staff to work elsewhere if they need a 40% tip to earn a wage; and never darken the doorstep of any restaurant belonging to that owner
@dhananjay_nikam@Math_files If the correct answer is 25%, you have a 50% chance; if 40% is right, your chance is 25%, as it is if the correct answer is 60%. So your chance of randomly getting it right is (50%+25%+25%)/3=0.313 33.3%
@Math_files It depends entirely how much the exam setters take into account social biases in selecting letters before deciding how to distribute the corrects answers against each letter
@yenga_ Did a quick Google search for ‘hedgerow ecosystems in Devon and Cornwall’. I undersold them: 2000+ species; Devon alone has over 33,000 miles of hedgerows and over 75% of them are more than 600 years old.
