@hitsamty The interviews ive seen are very interesting, not what I would expect. They were so ancestry heavy I feel like the guests have to do research on their own families to prepare!
@mwmoedinger Good thread. I didn’t realize the technical difference between the “background” and the actual CAD file.
Working at a GC all I need is the background so my subs can use that a reference to make shop drawings
Lots of weird / bad takes about squatters on here right now.
The problem with "the police should just remove them" is that the squatters is NYC are claiming to be legal tenants. They're not "claiming squatters rights". They are waving around a fake lease.
You need a court to sort that out. From the cops' perspective, it's one person's word against another.
The problem is that housing court in NYC - like many blue states - takes FOREVER. Years.
And often, cities give tenants (fake or not) free lawyers. The lawyers know their client is in the wrong, so they just try to delay as long as possible.
So savvy squatters can live somewhere for free for years, just like non-paying renters can.
We have to fix housing court.
@dieworkwear I’m going to Japan for the first time for 2 weeks in April (Tokyo, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Tokyo) What’s a good clothing/bag souvenir to come back with? Stoping in Tokyo first and last. Should I try to get a suit (enough time?). Any articles that have ideas on this?
@MarketUrbanism@ryanmjohnson It seems like Culdesac is operating as a startup. I would have thought to be a startup in the RE dev space they would copy the @hicommon model. Maybe in later phases? Just seems like a lot of staff to support until they become profitable with minimal diff/“moat” from other GPs
@roblabonne Why don’t more grocery stores do what Trader Joe’s does with making more of their own branded food? Also is that the main reason they can offer their products at such a discount compared to national brands?
