Tribute to Liberty (TTL), established in 2008, is a Canadian charity whose mission is to establish a Canadian memorial to commemorate the victims of Communism.
For 37 years, over 2,000 images taken by a Chinese state media photographer were hidden in a metal box, surviving brutal purges—until now.
These raw, powerful photos show the courage of the students, the scale of the protests, and the horror of what the Chinese Communist Party did.
Now, The @EpochTimes is making the photos public for the first time. [1/2]
Canada just built a memorial to communism’s victims… and not everyone is happy about it.
Why the outrage? What are people afraid of?

Today at the Memorial to victims of communism in Ottawa the baltic communities in 🇨🇦 and the three embassies commemorated the deportations of June 14, 1941 in 🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹. That same evil is currently destroying lives in 🇺🇦.

Together, we remember, educate, and inspire.
At one point, as many as 25% of Canada's population was made up of people who had survived or escaped communist oppression.
We recently got a tour of Canada's newly unveiled national monument to the 100 million victims of communist brutality. @ludwikmoneyweb
Today we celebrate Europe Day, which symbolizes freedom, peace, unity, security, and prosperity. This day is important to all Europeans, but it has a very special meaning for the nations of Central and Eastern Europe, which for decades were enslaved by the Russian authoritarian regime. Today, at the Monument to Victims of Communism in Ottawa, we remembered and honored all those who never had the chance to celebrate Europe Day during their lives.

Prominent landmarks exposing the horrors of communism are rare, but a new, powerful one has recently landed! Today I toured the Memorial to Victims of Communism: Canada a Land of Refuge, a stone’s throw away from Parliament Hill in the Canadian capital of Ottawa—courtesy of Ludwik Klimkowski @ludwikmoneyweb, who shepherded it across the finish line over 17 years of intrigue. Full disclosure: My family is a small donor to this memorial. @AmThoughtLeader interview coming soon!
@ludwikmoneyweb@tributetolibert@EpochTV@OttawaMorning@CdnHeritage 💯 One-fifth of the world's people still live under Communist regimes & hundreds of millions are dead as a direct result of the totalitarianism that adherents of this nasty ideology always impose. The victims' stories are a powerful weapon to overcome Communism's specious nature.
Yesterday, I was honoured to speak on behalf of the Government of Canada at the reception to commemorate the unveiling of the Memorial to the Victims of Communism along with members of @tributetolibert, a Canadian veteran, survivors and representatives of many communities in Canada. The memorial honours the memory and pays tribute to the millions who suffered under communist totalitarian regimes and to those who found safety, freedom, and refuge in Canada.
I have been a longstanding advocate for this project, and I am proud that the government of Canada provided $6 million in funding towards this project.
Thank you to the team at Tribute to Liberty led by Ludwik Klimkowski. Their vision and leadership made this memorial possible.
The monument is now open to the public and will be a place to remember those who suffered and those who were lost under communist regimes. It will also stand as a testament to Canada’s enduring commitment to democracy, freedom and human rights.
Today, the Memorial to the Victims of Communism – Canada, a Land of Refuge, was officially inaugurated in Ottawa.
The memorial honours the millions who suffered under communist regimes and those who sought refuge in Canada.
"Behind every single person on the Wall of Remembrance, you will find the story of their journey to Canada and the resistance and the victory against communism." - @ludwikmoneyweb, chair of @tributetolibert
This morning, Canada inaugurated its Memorial to the Victims of #Communism. It's been 17 years in the making.
"There's no such memorial anywhere in the world that serves that purpose. It's educational, but it's also a place for the future pilgrimages of the families of people who are affected by this horrendous evil ideology."
"I traveled to Washington DC a number of times, and I was always amazed with the pilgrimage of people who come to the Vietnam [Veterans] Memorial site…They take a piece of paper, and they copy the name of their uncle, father, brother, any soldier who died fighting against communism in Vietnam. We wanted to do something similar."
Today, we honour the victims of genocide and emphasize the importance of its prevention.
By learning from the past, we can contribute to a future where such horrors are never repeated.

An alleged FSB agent infiltrated Canada’s Parliament last week when she spoke at an event about the decolonization of Russia. This brazen violation demonstrates yet again how vulnerable and exposed we are to Russian active measures + influence operations. https://t.co/xvkEfdcOOn
