Rainy, cold conditions persist in Porto Alegre where many families remain in makeshift shelters after flooding destroyed their homes. So how “unique” is the content that ChatGPT is creating?

We had ChatGPT crank out 1000 articles on various topics.

We then ran the articles through Copyscape to see if there was any duplicate content.

A whopping 186 articles came back with duplicate content.

That means 81.4% of the content was unique.

And 18.6% of the time the content was duplicative.

The majority of the time it was a sentence or two that was plagiarized.

Every once in a while, it was much more than a sentence or two.

So, does this mean marketers shouldn’t use ChatGPT to create content?

No.

You just have to be careful.

You need to double-check for plagiarism.

On top of that even if there isn’t plagiarism, you should still modify the article and add in some E-E-A-T as Google puts it.

Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trust.

And just keep one thing in mind when you are creating content.

No one wants to read regurgitated content that is old. People want to read something fresh, new, and get insights and knowledge that they have never seen or consumed before.

That’s the key to ensuring your content does well.
