@KimIversenShow Spain in 2012, something like 25€ or less for a primary care doctor visit. Host family warned me about the bill beforehand. Saw the number and paid in cash. Lol.
@OpenAudacious @subsolnihilnova Hard to discount value given current CA admin has committed to 100% blocking the project. No similar comparisons anywhere in USA
@subsolnihilnova @OpenAudacious Thesis 1. was consent decree. Thesis 2. was federal support trump card. Now where we are at is mgmt has totally fucked over two different rounds of investors on those first two theses and as a result the nav price back to their own cost basis. Size accordingly lol
I had a french professor who once said if you just did something like going to the supermarket and experienced it fully without the goggles of habit and catégories you would go crazy with pure sense and joy. I think about it all the time. In a way this is all for him.
at a job interview
"whats your biggest weakness?"
"understanding the semantics of a question but ignoring the pragmatics"
"could you give an me an example?"
"yes i could"
One thing I miss about Germany is that it’s full of well-educated smart people with very modest income. They hate spending money – they have almost none – so everything is designed around that. The constant casual ripoffs, hidden fees, etc. prevalent in the US wouldn’t fly there.
