To be clear, CNN chose to frame Mayor Zohran Mamdani attending the 9/11 memorial around objections to his presence, while leaving out some VERY important context about the people behind those objections.

CNN repeatedly cited a petition supposedly representing 9/11 families, even though subsequent reporting found its organizer couldn’t provide a list showing which signers were actually relatives of victims, admitting, “We don’t have a list.”

CNN also featured critics without mentioning their previous rhetoric about Mamdani. One claimed he is “a Muslim that has thoughts to get rid of all Jewish people, and to agree with 9/11.”

Meanwhile, relatives of 250 people killed on 9/11 have publicly supported Mamdani attending the memorial.

That seems like pretty relevant context for CNN readers to have…
