9 Officers just got arrested/fired for abusing Flock surveillance to stalk people...again! This makes it 21 cases of abuse so far that we're aware of.
This is exactly why mass surveillance is dangerous.
It’s not just “a few bad apples.” One person with access and a grudge can turn your every move into their personal playground - exes, coworkers, neighbors, whoever.
Your 4th Amendment rights are being shredded while you’re just trying to live your life.
Nobody consented to being tracked 24/7 just for existing.
And when the machines get it wrong? False positives can destroy lives! The FBI will be at your door at 4AM, guns drawn screaming at you to 'get on your knees!'
Real police work doesn’t need this. 🕵️♂️
@GuyInSeattle1@dvw@Dalrymple Yes you have to know the market, West Coast is going to have better sushi so seafood as Texas will have better bbq and Tex Mex, South American etc...
Kashibas and Takai have certainly stolen the spotlight from shiro's, shiro's is now under new ownership. It's not as good as it once was. While it is decent sushi it is not the same quality you'd expect from a high-end Japanese restaurant. Takai or koshiba is as close as you're going to get to a real omakase in Tokyo.
@GuyInSeattle1@dvw@Dalrymple Great bbq there, Seattle only has like 2 sushi spots that pass as authentic Japanese style omakase.
Thai, or general seafood sure, that's a dime a dozen in Seattle but I wouldn't classify most of those restaurants as contributing to a high-end dining scene.
@KweenPeen@dvw@Dalrymple I get that, and the best imo is probably Altura... Canlis is highly over rated, while the staff are truly great, the atmosphere is stuffy and the food is mid, and light for fine dining, I don't think I've ever left there full or satisfied.
What else even rates in Seattle?
@paulg For a second there I thought the professor was Indian, and I thought it had something to do with the story... I got it now, "a professor from Brown University..."
This is false if you look at many tour set lists, especially for comedy, they skip Seattle. Anyone who thinks the food in Seattle is great hasn't traveled the world let alone the US. Try Austin, SF, LA, Miami, NYC etc all demolish Seattle when it comes to variety and character. Let alone Tokyo, Paris, Bangkok etc... Seattle still doesn't have any Michelin stars...
