Sharks are a critical keystone species, maintaining the balance of life in the sea and keeping habitats healthy. However, populations have declined by 70% in the last 50 years.
Meet the incredible #SharkChampions working to change that 🌊🦈👉 https://t.co/OTAC9eXUcA
📢I am very excited to finally share what feels like the most important paper of my career so far - the world's first randomized controlled trial of #marine#conservation incentives - out now in @ScienceMagazine's Science Advances: https://t.co/X4xar1pxy3

Based on our data, we identified important leverage points within the supply chains, & outlined potential #interventions - from enhancing fisher access to increasing supply chain #traceability - to improve the sustainability and socio-economic outcomes of shark trade.
Global shark and ray populations are plummeting. Marine conservationist Trisha Gupta (@Trisha_0405) has been working with fishing communities in India – one of the world's top shark and ray harvesting nations – to bring about positive change.🦈
