who would’ve known working a job i actually enjoy & hanging out with my friends once a week would’ve alleviated my depression symptoms. amazing. i really fought back this year. i’m unstoppable. let me start exercising too.
"that's what exactly what a mental illness is like. it's a disorder that can strike anyone at any time, anywhere. don't be so sure that you won't fall ill like that one day either."
pinakamasakit yung impact ng stigma and discrimination to people who suffered such conditions.. kahit na they recovered from it, they can never get away from people's criticism as if they are unfit to work or to live a normal life...
mentall illness stigma is a no joke. sobrang talamak ng ignorance and prejudice. people (who are suffering) didn't even want to be sick in the first place.. di naman nila ginusto maging depressed, magka panic disorder, magkaroon ng anxiety. pero OA yung society kung ijudge sila.
as a therapist i can confirm. establishing a routine, mastering time management skills & accepting that healing isn’t linear so you don’t shame yourself when you can’t do things perfectly everyday. giving yourself a strict time frame in which you let depression “win” for the day.
