Within last 24 hours in San Francisco:
- (non-local) girl friend meets me downtown after work, we go looking for a restaurant, and she feels unsafe the whole time - freaking out at the "zombieland" that downtown SF is at night. Constantly on alert worried about seedy mentally unstable drugged up homeless people and human feces on the sidewalk. Entrance to my apartment building (not downtown) smells like piss with what appears to be a homeless transvestite hooker outside.
- Walk into Target, armed security everywhere walking around to deal with reports of theft and mentally insane people out of their minds inside, self-checkout machines closed due to theft, two plus-sized woman spill grapes at the cash register by accident and don't even bother to look down - letting the grapes spill all over the floor and getting in everyone's way until a few minutes pass by, some guy being escorted out the store and harassing all the workers from outside - shouting things like "you soft n*gga, you ain't even a real police officer" (attached video shows a few seconds of this)
- chat with my Uber driver and he goes on a rant about how f*cked up the city has become, how the leadership are as corrupt as that of Rio de Janeiro in his home country of Brazil, where the last 5 governors were afterwards sentenced to prison. Points out all the vacant and boarded up properties, the crazy people everywhere, the @X sign finally being repainted after being blocked forever because mayor @LondonBreed apparently doesn't like @elonmusk, pointing to a Waymo and saying that that self-driving car drives better than any human, that robots are taking our jobs, and that instead of governments addressing this fact that most people are screwed with robots automating their jobs, they fixate on stuff like Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ when all he cares about is being able to pay rent and put food on the table for his son.

The state of San Francisco is an embarrassment, and its leaders @LondonBreed and @GavinNewsom need to be removed immediately, if not outright thrown in jail for corruption and/or gross negligence.

London Breed makes $444k/yr and Gavin Newson makes $234k/yr, making them respectively the highest paid mayor and governor in the country (funded by your tax dollars). Both have been in their current leadership positions for the last 6 years. They have failed, and need to be fired immediately. If any employee was as incompetent as them, they'd be fired in a heartbeat.

They are completely capable of cleaning up SF - just like they did a month ago when Xi Jinping was visiting. They just chose not to because they're incompetent and/or don't give a f*ck. They need to be fired, and gtfo of politics because clearly they're grossly incompetent. And if no competent leader is capable of fixing it, then the entire political system needs to be restructured.

I want to make it clear that I'm not trashing SF, I'm trashing its incompetent leadership who've destroyed what was once a beautiful city, bankrupting local businesses (commercial vacancy rate is 35%, highest in the U.S), letting addicts and the mentally insane die on the streets without offering them any real help, subjecting people to the daily freakshow and zombieland that the city has become, and driving so many out of the city. Everyone here is sick of this sh*t, and these incompetent leaders need to go. Everytime you're subject to this zombieland, remember that your tax dollars are funding the lavish multi-six figure salaries of the leaders who are responsible for managing your city, and they were able to clean it up for Xi Jinping but not you.
