@bjpren @DoveBobbie I'll try that at work tomorrow. "Remember our meeting last week?" "What meeting? I've never had a meeting with you. I've never had a meeting with anyone. This isn't even the SEN department..."
Sounds like a successful strategy. I should've thought of it before.
@2tubies@StarlightMcKenz Does that mean LA SEND Managers would get paid more if they reduced expenditure and hence freed up resources? Just checking...
@bjpren Shouldn't a better outcome say e.g. '...so he can use 50 high frequency words by the end of key stage 2'? Then theoretically you could put a % achieved on that - only if it was felt to he useful of course.
PS: 'Pathetic' is a bit harsh in this instance.
@SENstruggle @bjpren @stevenmwright How have you possibly reached that conclusion? I only have a problem with the minority of law firms who see desperate parents as a massive money-making opportunity. I've looked on in horror as some poor parents have been bankrupted via being encouraged to pursue lost causes.
@bjpren @stevenmwright On that subject, there are some really nasty and personal comments about LA staff within Twitter SEN conversations. Just saying...
@bjpren @stevenmwright Don't forget that the move to academisation has taken many schools out of LA control, so harder for them to encourage inclusive practice or challenge exclusions.
@bjpren @lerdlebosh I'm not an EP but my understanding is there aren't enough people who want to qualify, which isn't directly within LA control. And because of the shortage, EPs can pick and choose where they work. They prefer preventative work so will avoid LAs with high assessment rates.
@SpcialNdsJungle Apparently it's the short journeys that are really expensive as very few taxi drivers want to do them and the ones that will can then charge premium rates.
@SpcialNdsJungle It would also be helpful to know why the LA's Stage 1 & 2 response were felt to be unsatisfactory. Did they refuse to acknowledge and apologise for the error/delay?
