In this interview from the inaugural @CHSAA_NYC Media Day, we spoke to @IonaPrepBBall head coach, @CoachTimPhilp, and his two seniors in @Nateshill and @johnnykeenan7.
Last season, the Gaels were one of the scrappiest teams in the @CHSAA_NYC "AA" division, as they made their presence felt on many nights in the Archdiocesan division (Bronx/Westchester/Staten Island). They went on a major run to the @CHSAA_NYC "AA" quarterfinals.
After losing players to graduation and a significant piece in Lucas Morillo (transferred to the Newman School in Boston, Mass.), the Gaels are bringing back the aforementioned Shillingford and Keenan as senior leaders and also and also some talented underclassmen in juniors @JtLindi and Joe Wolf and sophomores @DillonCallahan4 and @RayFernandez0, two of the finest prospects in the Class of 2027.
Aside from their league schedule, they will be playing in the Good Counsel Xaverian Classic in Marylathed the weekend of Dec. 7-8, and will also be playing in the Westchester County Center in White Plains, as they will be playing @SecOneAthletics powerhouse, Poughkeepsie on Dec. 21st and in the Crusader Classic, which is the annual rivalry game against the nationally-ranked Archbishop Stepinac on Jan. 4th. They will also be playing the Crusaders in a rematch at the Hynes Athletic Center on the campus of @ionauniversity in New Rochelle on Feb. 8th.
The Gaels will also be playing non-league games against perennial PSAL Bronx 4A powerhouse Eagle Academy I on Jan. 8th (home), Staten Island's own St. Joseph by the Sea on Jan. 25th (road), Long Island's own Chaminade on Jan. 30th (road) and the defending New Jersey Non-Public B state champions, Don Bosco Prep on Feb. 11th (home).
Look out for Coach Philp & the Gaels this season, as they plan to shake things up in the @CHSAA_NYC.

“You don’t have to tell your story-time will. Put your head down, continue to work, do what’s right, be a good person, work hard, give energy. You don’t have to yell from the rooftops who you are or what you do. Let time tell”@Candace_Parker
