@schmatzarella@GergelyOrosz@rezacentral At big tech co’s senior usually indicates ability to lead technical projects and mentor less senior engineers. The level below senior indicates ability to deliver independently.
I strongly believe that all managers in a technical area must be technically excellent.
Managers in software must write great software or it’s like being a cavalry captain who can’t ride a horse!
@callicrates_ These people have become a meme at every reputable CS department. Kudos to your friend for pulling this off successfully but most of the time you’re gonna land in the fb group “I can handle the business side” with this proposition. Worth checking out that group
I'm going to set up my future kid's Trust Fund so it only vests after they make +$5 MM themselves that way they don't have to worry about money, but aren't so comfortable they major in Art History.
@OneDailyMillion Wow that’s extremely diversified. What made you decide to start your own business in your early 20s rather than learn under someone who’s 15 years ahead? It seems to me that learning how to do it properly rather than trying to figure it out yourself is the more effective path
@OneDailyMillion Good point but is it advisable to spread yourself thin? Wealth creation seems to follow power laws, ie top 1% investor makes multiples of a top 5% investor. Most hyper successful people focussed on one thing and became world class at it. Curious to hear your thoughts
@OneDailyMillion What do you think about graduate studies in fields with great future potential such as AI/robotics? Being technically proficient in one of these fields is hard to imitate and technology’s influence on business is growing. Curious to hear your opinion
"As a company grows, everything needs to scale, including the size of your failed experiments. If the size of your failures isn’t growing, you’re not going to be inventing at a size that can actually move the needle." – @JeffBezos https://t.co/QTSNo5edzT
