Requesting Demand - A new Manuguru–Kirandul railway line. A direct track between Manuguru (MUGR, South Central Railway) and Kirandul (KRDL, East Coast Railway) would finally stitch the Warangal–Kazipet–Bhadrachalam belt to the Kothavalasa–Vizianagaram–Visakhapatnam corridor.

Today these two systems sit side by side but do not meet. Passengers and freight must take long detours. A new inland link would change that.

Why this line matters?
It would give South Central Railway a second, shorter gateway onto the East Coast / KK (Kothavalasa–Kirandul) system instead of forcing everything through Vijayawada or other crowded routes.

Warangal, Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem would get a more direct path toward Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam Port, and the mineral belt of Bastar.

Freight: Singareni coal and coke from the Godavari valley could move toward Bailadila iron ore and Vizag port with fewer empty-haul kilometres. Minerals, cement, food grains and industrial cargo would all benefit.

People: Tribal and interior pockets of Telangana, Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur would get rail access they have never had. Healthcare, education, markets and jobs become closer.

Strategy: A new east–west spine through the interior supports both development and security in a historically isolated region.

Manuguru already sits at the end of the Bhadrachalam Road branch off the Kazipet–Dornakal axis.
Kirandul is the northern terminus of the historic KK line that runs through Araku, Koraput and Jagdalpur to Kothavalasa.

Closing the gap between those two termini is the missing piece. Survey work on related alignments (Kothagudem / Pandurangapuram–Kirandul / Malkangiri) has already been discussed. The Manuguru–Kirandul option should be taken up as a priority new line under PM Gati Shakti, with a time-bound DPR, forest and land clearances, and construction timeline. This is not a local demand. It is a zonal and national connectivity project that links SCR and ECoR, shortens the Warangal–Kothavalasa journey via Vizianagaram, and opens the interior to the coast.
