I’ve been analyzing both Texas and Florida’s Republican electorates respectively. I’m curious to see if republicans break more for Talarico or Jolly come November. I suspect the first will happen, but at the same time it’s skewed due to Paxton being an absolute garbage nominee.

Interesting how Jolly keeps sharing Donalds’ full interviews & even his ads but Donalds posts videos of Jolly that are selectively edited sentence fragments.

Jolly thinks voters hearing what Donalds says helps him. Donalds doesn’t want voters to hear full sentences from Jolly.

@MartianThe51107 Culture wars always get exhausting at a certain point and we’ve had 8 years of it with DeSantis. Renner being a more calm candidate would’ve cancelled out Jolly’s “calm and steady” leadership tone tactics a bit. We’ll see how it goes, but I expect Jolly to greatly outperform.

@MartianThe51107 Yeah, that I agree. I’ve always said that Jolly has a real shot especially in this climate. Also, republicans would’ve probably been safe nominating Paul Renner but they went with Data Center Byron because their king trump told them to do so. No electoral intelligence whatsoever.

@MartianThe51107 I think Trump/Murcasel-Powell happened heavily with Hispanics and Harris/Scott with more moderate-ish republicans who didn’t want trump to return but also didn’t want to vote full Democrat. I think both were pretty common but I lean slightly towards Trump/Murcasel-Powell.

Does anyone else think the 2026 Florida governor’s race resembles 2014’s Scott vs. Crist heavily, with a hint of 2018 mixed in? A former Republican now Democrat is building a strong coalition of Democrats, independents, and moderate Republicans (2014) in an open-seat race (2018).

She knows the state party essentially collapsed as she presided over it, and she’s mad that in a much shorter time Angie is gathering enthusiasm from the base like we haven’t seen since 2018 and could very well help the party out of the slump.

@MappingFL Not to mention the heavy crossover that Jolly voters made voting for her as well when most people expected them to go for Vindman. They voted for candidate quality and character, not based on ideology.

@MappingFL I see people outside of FL scrambling to figure out how she won the nomination being dsa in a state so red, with so many older voters and voters against socialism. But it’s deeper than that. In this primary people voted pragmatically and didn’t define people by labels as much imo
