Big news for Indian online journalism and also for all those people who have worked in @RediffNews or written for it.
Much before dirty words like Godi and Pidi labels were invented rediff flourished online.
It started getting eyeballs with brilliant coverage of sports including cricket and Mumbai film industry.
Rediff covered political news and views with conviction to report all side of views without biases. It has been classical journalism at its best.
Rediff was not only pioneer in online journalism but it was the first credible news portal from Indian soil to go into web when internet era kickstarted.
It’s management is changing hands now.
No idea how things will develop.
Vishal Mehta of @InfibeamAvenues who has bought majority shares should know that Rediff could proudly claim complete editorial freedom since its inception in 1996.
When we reported for rediff there was charm of getting published because we weren’t ‘branded’ pro or anti anyone.
We did professional reporting and enjoyed our online presence.
Take a bow @ajitbalakrish and dearest @TubbyLex Nikhil Lakshman for being pioneer and for your conviction to adhere to highest standards of journalism.
Thank you for providing us platform like rediff.
There is a feeling of sadness, today.
Keeping fingers crossed.

Very excited to share my recent paper published early this year. We found giant supermountains formed twice in Earth's history and there are potential links between these supermountains and advances in evolution. Thank @NapkinScience for amazing interview. #geology#RSESrockstar
Peștera cu Oase, Romania, is where cave explorers found a deep ancient cave bear hibernaculum with remains of two humans, between 42,000 and 37,000 years old. These people had more Neandertal ancestry than anyone living today.
