@Kdoggizzle @evanempdx Scoot dropping to 3 was unexpected and really forced Joe’s hand. This was a 3 player draft and the general consensus was that Scoot was 2. In order to get equivalent value back for Scoot at 3, they needed to get a Joel Embid-type back and that just was not going to happen.

@trailblazers fans - In 1984, we had a chance to draft Michael Jordan but we already had Clyde Drexler. We needed a center so we drafted Sam Bowie. The rest is history. Stick to the playbook - draft the best guy available and let the chips fall where they may.
