@reoindustries One question - does it have a bench seat? I ask because I really like the Slate idea but they don't offer a bench seat on their pick up. I couldn't bring my dog with me. Seems like a small thing, but to me it's a big deal.

I’m originally from Maryland, but moved out of state around 13 years ago. I drove I-95 through MD this weekend both ways and was surprised by how much disrepair there was around the Capital Beltway. Mattresses on the shoulder, tons of trash and lots of growth under the overpasses - literally like a jungle. That may not seem like a huge deal but over time that can destroy the roads and bridges. It’s an easy thing to keep on top of, so it’s pretty indicative of the lack of professionalism and not wanting to care of the messy flashy things - the nuts and bolts of keeping society functioning . It definitely wasn’t that way a few years ago.

@SaysSimulation This is just an anecdote from my small slice of the world: my son is a senior at a really strong all boys school and it seems like most of the top kids are headed to engineering for college. Take it with a grain of salt, but maybe we’re headed in the right direction.

Damn, I wish I could skate. I just never got the hang of it. I’m good at walking and running, pretty good at jumping, but the moment you put something on my feet ( roller skates, ice skates, skies, etc), it’s like an alien took control of my body and is still in the trying-to-figure-things-out phase.

Everyday I pass the local skating rink and I think whether it would be weird if a 52 year old went in there and asked about private lessons.

@Camp4 I remember seeing a listing for a top floor penthouse for the one of the tallest buildings in NYC. Beautiful- top of the line everything, probably in several magazines. But, all I could think of was how lonely it seemed. So far away from everything.

My son goes to a really good all-boys private school and the homework load is reasonable. This is by design - all boys are required to do something after school whether it’s athletics, the arts, volunteering, etc. they also have free periods baked into their schedule which allows to get ahead of any homework.

@NiedsG @zillowgonewild It’s actually a great piece of land. I grew up close to here and this property is right on a 40 mike rail trail. (My house was also on the same trail and I loved it!). I’ve ridden my bike by this many times.
