@justexcel@megbasham Our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, the movement to free the slaves, our history and society cannot be understood without knowing the Bible which was and is the foundation of our history, government, society, and nation.
That's really nice, but I had much rather quote this:
"For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16, HCSB)
Every man should at least be able to recite the famous passage from the "Horatius at the Bridge" poem by Macaulay:
โThen out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the gate:
โTo every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods"
@MericaCulture If the South had won the battle of Gettysburg Lincoln would almost certainly failed to be reelected. There is plenty of reason to believe the South would have gained their goal of recognition as a separate country by the North.
@AdamPage85 I admit there is a lot if error that happens this way but we should beware of saying what God can and cannot do. There can be a lot of error made there as well. God is the God who surprised people often in the scriptures. His nature never changes. Let's be careful here.
@larissaphillip I detest it when people blame Boomers and lump them all together like none of them have independent minds and cannot think for themselves.
Conventional wisdom holds that spending your 20s focusing on education, work and fun, then marrying around 30 is the best path to maximize your odds of forging a strong and stable family life. But the research tells a different story. https://t.co/oZI5vHgisw
