@Ajarncom 15 or so years ago Phuket had this. They had two or three volunteers that would give advice and check you had all the right documents before approaching the counter. Don't know if that is still the case.
@CleansedTweets Confirmed. Australian's would also routinely sell their passports if they were low on funds. That is why there is now much higher prices for repeated replacement of a passport.
@Ajarncom I have a FCD. No bank book, no statements, no app, no debit card. Zero risk of ATM or digital theft. I get a single bank letter that also coverts the total deposit amount to THB. Bank staff see me once a year in the morning prior to me going to immigration to do my renewal.
@OMGTheMess Many of them were immigrants who will just bail on the loan and head back to there home country once there is manifest negative equity. Australian tax payers will foot the bill.
