@SethAbramson One of these days the owners will figure out that stadiums in the heart of downtowns where restaurants, bars, hotels and entertainment are within walking distance of the stadium is an absolute drawing card. Even in cold weather cities... use covered walkways connecting buildings.
@GeraldoRivera And of course there will be excuse after excuse why this is a terrible idea. I'm willing to say by 2036 this is exactly how the elections will be done.
@GeraldoRivera It's called vote on your smartphone and should be a viable option everywhere. Every other voting option's safety has been brought into question so this would be no worse/better than the rest. Everything else in our lives from personal to business is already online anyway.
@GeraldoRivera I'm assuming making voting easier would be against the Trumpublican ethos, though, wanting to limit voting as they do for (haha) security concerns.
@JustEsBaraheni Shame that basketball has become bullyball. I'm waiting on helmets and flak jackets. Between the "gather" and pushing the defender out of the way like this, refereeing is a lost art. Literally refs aren't needed.
@indystar If Robert's SCOTUS wouldn't take up the case, ol' Buyer really must have been dirty as hell. I wish Al Capone was still alive... Trump would pardon him and make him his National Security Advisor. Trump's revenge knows no bounds, and he uses it against America law.
@GreggDoyelStar ...and yet, at the end of the day (week!!!) here's a recap of all of the crap that happened, just as a reminder. It reminds me of a forest fire, just about out, and here you come with a gallon of kerosene just to remind us of what the fire was like. I like you, but think!!!
This is called Messianic Projection:
The person has transferred their need for a divine protector onto a political figure. Trump isn't just a president to them, he's a vessel for God's will. This is called "political messianism" when a leader becomes a sacred figure rather than a public servant.
@highbrow_nobrow I personally hope Trump is in good enough health to last until 1/20/2029... can you imagine what happens with these people should he die sooner? They'll never accept Trump as a mere mortal... he's their version of Jesus now.
@KardHoarder@nosoupforgeorge@awkwrdunicorn Another fun fact: the reason we Hoosiers have that reserve is that we chronically underspend on public schools...92 counties in Indiana and 100 public school systems are doing referendums this fall in order to get enough $$ to fund required programs. But we have $$ for DaBears!
@nosoupforgeorge@awkwrdunicorn ...and, you have to know Chicago and Illinois will find a way to get back at Indiana... a larger population, more money among the movers and shakers and yes, a history of corrupt politicians. I have a feeling Indiana is poking a hornet's nest.
@nosoupforgeorge@awkwrdunicorn This was just our all Republican state government doing their level best to make Democratic Illinois and especially Chicago look bad, no matter how much they had to twist and turn to do it. I'll bet half of this deal falls apart as soon as papers are signed.
