The population of Gaza is about 2 million. Nearly half are children.
Millions of innocent people cannot be made to pay for Hamas’ horror.
Collective punishment is a war crime. So are blockades to food and water.
We cannot allow dehumanization to descend into further atrocity.
This would amount to displacing 1 million+ Palestinians—displacement on a scale we have not seen since the Nakba. The international community must act to prevent a calamity. History will not be kind to those who remain silent.
@DavidLammy But what if it is not defending itself in line with international law and how do you react to the latest order forcing a mass evacuation and all the short and long term challenges that brings with it?
None of these were even proposed. Rishi has taken us to new levels of lying and manipulation - framing inaction as political good will. We need an election now.
We will never impose unnecessary and heavy-handed measures on you, the British people.
We will still meet our international commitments and hit Net Zero by 2050.
This is a complete farce from a Tory government that literally does not know what they are doing day to day.
13 years of failed energy policy has led to an energy bills crisis, weakened our energy security, lost jobs, and failed on the climate crisis.

The argument against votes at 16 basically fell apart once the country elected Boris Johnson. You can't seriously make the case that the young aren't grown-up enough to vote when the grown-ups chose a clown as prime minister.
All the messaging that went out during COP about how “world leading” (🙄) we are was just that - messaging and pr with no effect or intention for impact. This decision is an embarrassment and destroys hope for the future. @RishiSunak
UK government yet again has a chance to lead - and loses it. Their messaging that sustainability = costs is toxic. It ignores green growth, it ignores the costs of not doing something, it ignores the fact that profit growth is not the end all and be all.
NEW: Rishi Sunak plans to row back on some of government’s net zero policies that impose a direct cost on consumers as Tories attempt to create dividing line with Labour ahead of election.
Don’t hide behind x% of total emissions numbers or bank on future initiatives that don’t exist as solutions to the problem you are actively contributing to for economic gain.
We need global green energy now. We need green infrastructure (roads, trains, etc) now. We need corporate, country, and individual carbon taxes now (sorry to say it). We need green subsidies + upskilling programmes now. We need a halt to constant over consumption + production now
To every company with sustainability as a key priority - if you release a product w/o considering the full sustainability impact first & actively mitigate it (or better yet, wait to release), then you are greenwashing...
We also need global cooperation and leadership now. None of this is possible without it. Day by day we see new “unprecedented challenges” and we blink them away because of the scale of the task, preference towards keeping things the same, and lack of ingenuity.
No surprise here as COP26 and 27 were greenwashing efforts, and we know that COP28 will most likely be the same. We have zero global accountability on the environment at the time we need it most. https://t.co/LlP3didu6h
The weaponisation of absolutely everything: climate change, trans issues, antisemitism, covid, refugees, Ukraine - when what the world needs more than ever sensible discourse, cooperation and joint action.
London is cool and all, but I can’t deal with this rain the rest of my life. 10 months of rain and then “summer” (which is just more rain). Where is everyone else moving?
@RishiSunak@Telegraph So out of touch. Yet, somehow countries like Denmark where cars aren’t the central focus have better quality of living and happiness … in addition to being more sustainable - guess you haven’t looked into that one yet.
