#JMPD #ByLawManagementUnit officers were on parade when they received information via two-way radio regarding a stolen beige Toyota Hilux GD-6 that was travelling at high speed on the N12 West passing the N3 split.
Officers immediately responded & positioned themselves along the M1 South. The vehicle was subsequently intercepted on the N12 just after the Xavier Off-Ramp behind Southgate.

Upon noticing the officers, the suspect abandoned the vehicle & attempted to flee on foot. A foot chase ensued & the suspect was successfully apprehended & placed under arrest. He was detained at Booysens SAPS for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Upon inspection officers discovered that the vehicle had been stripped & the ignition had been tampered with & damaged. The recovered vehicle was booked in at the Aeroton SAPS Pound.
