CapitalMind had written an amazing article long back on benefits to the Gov't for keeping UPI free. The subsidies barely cost anything compared to the massive increase in white economy and tax base. No sensible patriotic Gov't would charge for UPI transactions.

The only reason why Gov't is now contemplating to charge UPI, is to benefit US companies - Google and Walmart who process almost all UPI transactions. Bc kitna surrender karege.
