So much discussion recently on Capitalism versus Socialism, and a general misunderstanding of both systems leads to errors. Here is a short thread:
Two books have shaped my views and highlight the pros and cons of Capitalism, Atlas Shrugged and Grapes of Wrath 1/
Father of seven on his way to pick up his daughter was fatally shot on Bronx MTA buss during dispute over noise.
Jonathan Pettigrew, 41, told another passenger he was being too loud when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a single shot.
The shooter fled the scene and remains at large.
NJ’s plastic bag ban was supposed to save the environment. But a recent industry-sponsored analysis suggests the result was: MORE plastic, MORE emissions, and HIGHER costs for shoppers.
💰 About $200,000 a year in bag-sale revenue for the average store
Democrats promised an environmental win. NJ families got another bill. Once again, you're left holding the bag.

Walk over to the Port Authority. If Penn Station is the day room in a psych ward, the Port Authority is the ICU. A weekly sweep of those two locations alone would change the tenor of midtown significantly. Leaving these people on the street does not help them.
I ride the subway every single day in NYC - and can confirm, it is swarming with people who are mentally unstable.
The city needs to jail people who are naked, urinating, screaming, and smoking on trains.
The city also needs to install real gates.
Hey @GovKathyHochul, why is the busiest transit station in North America being allowed to function as a de facto shelter, treatment center, and encampment for people with no intention of boarding a train under your leadership?
Millions of riders pass through Penn Station. Why are their safety, comfort, and quality of life being treated as an afterthought?
When will Penn Station be returned to its primary purpose: moving people, not warehousing social problems?
@bougiesports Agree. Not only that but Stefanski gave him extreme privileges, everyone knew he wasn’t a leader and yet KS referred to him as a leader. And after all that he still wanted out.

Corporation: "We made $4B but spent $3.9B so we only owe taxes on $100M."
Government: "Totally reasonable."
You: "I made $60K but spent $58K on survival."
Government: "You owe taxes on $60K."
You: "That's not—"
Government: "File by May 15."
Senator John Fetterman says he was the only Democrat on the Senate's Fraud Exploratory Committee to vote in favor of opening an investigation into Malia Obama's suspicious USAID grants when she was still living at the White House in 2007.
"She was just a kid," said Fetterman, "So shouldn't we be looking at how a high school girl snatched $2.3 million for writing pen pal letters to a few dozen kids in Africa?"
Fetterman says the party's refusal to investigate its own people is the main reason he believes there will be a red wave in November.
"Nobody sees it coming, but mark my words."
The Fed expanded the money supply by nearly $9 trillion under Powell.
Inflation has averaged >4% per year over the past 6 years.
Powell's explanation? It was nearly all due to rolling “supply shocks" over which the Fed has no control.
The truth: this inflation was made in Washington as it always is - from too much government borrowing/spending and too much government creation of money.
