$TSLA - TESLA SEMI LONG RANGE PRICED AT $290,000
Tesla’s 500-mile Semi Long Range is now quoted at $290,000, up ~60% from the original $180,000 price promised in 2017. The Standard Range (325 miles) is listed around $260,000.
Despite the increase, Tesla undercuts the average Class 8 electric truck ($435,000) by about $145,000. The Semi offers 500 miles of range, 1.2 MW peak charging, 1.7 kWh/mile efficiency, and three 800 kW motors.
Volume production is expected this year, with California HVIP vouchers and Uber Freight discounts helping reduce effective costs. Tesla positions the Semi as competitive vs. diesel trucks, with payback in ~4 years for local distribution.
I don’t even think it’s just X, I think it’s all platforms. Majority of comments seem to just be bots interacting with other bots. Majority of content is engagement farming. Signal to noise ratio is very small — dare I say, getting close to “not worth a damn” threshold.
@BillyM2k I see less content I want to interact with everything just seems like fake engagement farming or viral content now. like everyone on the app just lost their personality
I made a thread of all we know on the Tesla Robotaxi sighting, including team member posts, Elon's details, etc.

sums it up best:
"It’s just a small step today.
In hindsight, it will be the inflection point."

What else did I miss?
If you've been driving a vehicle with average safety, there's an 11.8% chance you were in a car accident over the past 5 years. But if you were driving a Tesla, there was only a 5.4% chance... unless you were using Autopilot, in which case it was only a 1.5% chance. 👀 $TSLA
Many more @Tesla Cybercab Castings at Giga Texas today! Looks like around 75 or so in the racks waiting for production line testing (or more than that?) 😎
NEWS: Tesla Hires More Than 1,000 Employees to Expand Semi Production
_________________________
Tesla is hiring more than 1,000 new employees at its Nevada factory in preparation for the start of mass production of the Semi trucks.
Earlier this week, Tesla announced on YouTube that the first electric trucks will begin production at its Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada, by the end of 2025. Production capacity will then ramp up to 50,000 units per year.
According to Business Insider, citing people familiar with the matter, until recently, only about 100 people were working on the Semi. However, the number of employees and production volumes have been growing in recent months. The new hires are currently undergoing training.
Tesla's website currently lists about 100 positions related to Semi development. They include a wide range of different areas, from testing and maintenance specialist positions to engineering and quality assurance positions.
NEWS: Mati Carbon Wins $50M Grand Prize at Elon Musk-funded XPRIZE Carbon Removal Competition
_____________________________
On Earth Day (April 23, 2025), the winning teams of the XPRIZE Carbon Removal Competition were announced at the TIME100 Summit in New York City. Indian-African company Mati Carbon won the $50 million grand prize for its enhanced rock weathering program. Five runners-up — NetZero, Vaulted Deep, UNDO Carbon, Planetary, and Project Hajar — received a share of the $100 million prize sponsored by the Musk Foundation.
Mati, which collaborates with Remineralize the Earth (RTE) on projects in the Global South, was selected as the winner of the XPRIZE Carbon Removal thanks to its remineralization project, an often overlooked strategy of ERW (Enhanced Rock Weathering). While ERW focuses on the carbon removal abilities of rock dust, remineralization considers the broader impacts of rock dust spreading on agricultural land, including improved outcomes for farmers through increased crop yields and increased nutrient density.
