We're committed to supporting our customers and the communities we serve by delivering the reliable, safe and clean energy they count on every day.
As data center development grows, we remain focused on protecting our customers by maintaining reliability and keeping bills as low as possible. As a regulated utility, we work with state regulators to ensure new large usage customers like data centers pay their own way. This includes paying for grid upgrades, infrastructure improvements, additional substations and the integration of renewable energy resources when needed.
We're not alone in this effort. See how regulated utilities are stepping up to protect customers: https://t.co/Ya0L3FDcBo
Always funny to see groups religiously lobby for policies that require Xcel to add to its rate base and then become scandalized when its profits and bills increase. #copolitics
Historically low snowpack, coupled with unseasonably warm and dry weather and very dry vegetation could contribute to large, fast-spreading wildfires in Colorado over the coming weeks and months.
We encourage you to take steps to prepare for potential wildfires and power outages now.

We stand with business leaders calling for an immediate deescalation of tensions in our state. Following the tragic death of a second Minneapolis resident, we are joining other local businesses in a call for leaders to work together to identify workable solutions to this crisis.

I've covered the #coleg since 2007 and can't think of an issue on which labor groups like @111Ibew and business groups like @ColoradoChamber were this in sync: https://t.co/YaO6r4yLpn
We are preparing for a strong wind event in Colorado and may need to conduct a targeted Public Safety Power Shutoff along the Front Range as a public safety measure to reduce wildfire risk on Dec. 17 beginning at 12 noon.
Customers are encouraged to review the outage map: https://t.co/kqCS57wKgw
While we no longer expect to conduct a Public Safety Power Shutoff, we will be activating Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS) across our Front Range service area to reduce wildfire risk due to the upcoming weather event. Customers in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Larimer, Jefferson, and East Denver counties are encouraged to prepare for potential weather-related outages, especially on Monday, when high winds are expected.
During escalated wildfire operations, we will also stage extra crews as needed for rapid outage response and deploy drones and other monitoring tools to inspect lines and assist in outage response.
It’s great they are prioritizing it now, but it’s ridiculous that it got to this stage. Things like this only prove and widen the divide between the front range and the western slope.
