Multiple global crises are exacerbating already damaging levels of inequality.
It's vital the international community work together for greater #socialjustice.
@ILO must lead the way in building this global coalition, with its unique world of work perspective and expertise.
Very proud to have partnered with ILWU Local 502 to recruit 197 new Longshore employees to move Canada’s Cargo through the Port of Vancouver. A big shout-out to the ILWU trainers for their professional instruction to new recruits teaching them to work together, and stay safe.
Excellent news that Canada 🇨🇦 has become the 25th country to ratify ILO Convention 190 on violence and harassment.
The Convention is designed to help free the world of work from violence and harassment in all its forms.
I urge all countries to #RatifyC190 and implement it!
Proud to have collaborated with labour and Govt on development of this significant instrument and then training 10k waterfront employees. Minister O'Regan ratifies C190, the first-ever global treaty on ending violence and harassment in the world of work https://t.co/7rk3IUX3S1
On International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, I urge all countries to ratify @ILO Convention 190 on violence and harassment.
We must unite with action to free everyone in the world of work and beyond from violence and harassment!

Human existence depends on a healthy planet.
We must protect the ecosystems that sustain us and find ways of organizing economies to provide jobs and growth with minimal environmental impact.
There is huge potential in a #JustTransition to a net-zero future.

Was a real pleasure touring Minister O’Regan Jr around our world class training centre in Richmond. We are proud of infrastructure we have built and the skills we teach and even more proud of the men and women of the waterfront that keep Canada’s supply chain moving. @BC_Maritime
2022 is set to be a record year for cargo here in BC. Up to 700 new longshore and skilled trades workers will be needed to meet the demand.
And this where they train - @BC_Maritime’s new $35 million Waterfront Training Centre in Richmond. What a view from up here.
