The coming week could prove decisive: will the European Union finally show initiative and significantly lower the oil price cap, thereby raising the cost of war for Russia — or not?

With the United States still in a wait-and-see mode, the initiative now rests with Europe. We must take the first step.

Oil is the cornerstone of Russia��s economy and the largest source of revenue the Kremlin uses to fund its war of aggression. Every day that this revenue stream continues helps prolong the war and deepen the suffering in Ukraine. Lowering the price cap is therefore not merely an economic measure — it is a strategic step to protect European security.

European countries that are still hesitant must grasp a simple truth: if we don’t raise Russia’s cost of war today, Russia will raise our costs tomorrow — economically, politically, and in terms of security. It really is that simple.

Most of the conversations that I have about nuclear energy, leads to the same question: “- but what about the waste? -What waste? -Well, you know, it remains highly hazardous for a long time and…”

Let me tell you 3 facts about nuclear spent fuel:

1️⃣ A nuclear power plant, supplying energy to a large city with millions of residents, consumes less than half a liter of uranium daily, resulting in less than half a liter of spent fuel produced each day. AND: About ~95% of this waste can be recycled, like France currently does.

2️⃣ No human has ever been harmed by nuclear waste. Contrary to common perception, spent nuclear fuel is in solid form, securely packaged in high-level waste containers (ultra-strong containers) designed to withstand extreme conditions and provide secure long-term storage for radioactive materials. Also, we have precise knowledge of its location and composition.

3️⃣ After ~300 years, the harmful radiation diminishes. Therefore, we store it in deep geological repositories. Finland's repository, Onkalo, is a notable example, with negligible environmental impact.

The 'waste problem' doesn't even require a solution; it's not a problem at all.

And remember: Are you actively advocating for saving the planet? Excellent idea! Construct more nuclear power plants. The more, the faster, the better.

A maternity ward, educational facilities, a shopping mall, multi-story residential buildings and private homes, a commercial storage, and a parking lot. Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities.

Today, Russia used nearly every type of weapon in its arsenal: “Kindzhals,” S-300s, cruise missiles, and drones. Strategic bombers launched X-101/X-505 missiles. A total of around 110 missiles were fired against Ukraine, with the majority of them being shot down.

Unfortunately, there have been fatalities and injuries as a result of the strikes. All services are working around the clock and providing the necessary aid. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured.

We will surely respond to terrorist strikes. And we will continue to fight for the security of our entire country, every city, and every citizen. Russian terror must and will lose.
