I don’t usually do this, but one of my New Year’s resolutions is to step out of my comfort zone , not from a place of mediocrity, but growth. Tweeting this into 2026: I will win big. I’ll be back to this 🧎♂️🙏"

A Heartfelt Appreciation for a Memorable Honour
I remain deeply grateful to the Almighty Allah for the grace, strength and wisdom that brought me to this remarkable moment.
At the 29th and 30th Convocation Ceremony of Lagos State University, I was profoundly honoured to be recognised as the Best Graduating Student of the 2024/2025 Academic Session, having graduated with a CGPA of 4.96 out of 5.00.
This recognition is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. It represents not only academic excellence, but also years of discipline, sacrifice, perseverance, sleepless nights, learning and unwavering determination.
I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for the extraordinary honour and generosity extended to me and other outstanding graduates.
Your decision to reward my academic achievement with a ₦20 million cash prize is a remarkable gesture that I do not take for granted. More than the financial value of the award, I deeply appreciate the message behind it: that excellence is seen, valued and rewarded.
Thank you, Your Excellency, for investing in education, celebrating young people and encouraging a culture of excellence in Lagos State. Your gesture has strengthened my resolve to use my education, skills and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society.
I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, for your support and commitment to the advancement of education and human capital development in our dear State.
To the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, I am immensely grateful for your leadership and for the environment of excellence that continues to define LASU.
I appreciate the entire University Management, Senate, my lecturers, mentors, colleagues, friends and everyone who contributed to my journey.
LASU gave me more than a degree. It gave me an environment that challenged me to grow, think critically, serve and pursue excellence.
This achievement belongs to everyone who believed in me, prayed for me, supported me and encouraged me along the way.
As I begin this next chapter, I carry with me a profound sense of responsibility. The honour has raised the standard for me, and I am committed to ensuring that this achievement becomes a foundation for greater impact.
Thank you, Lagos State Government.
Thank you, Lagos State University.
Thank you, LASU family.
Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible.
With profound gratitude, I remain committed to excellence, service and impact.
4.96/5.00. Best Graduating Student.
A milestone achieved. A greater responsibility begins.

Re:
You all know there’s “LinkedIn autosuggestion”, during my Msc in Akure, one of our Lecturers got promoted to SL & a final year student wrote: Congratulations Folake( not real name)- I mean, she literally tapped on the autosuggest, the lecturer no take am easy for her ooo, na me help the poor girl beg laslas.
NB- BTW, you won’t use LinkedIn autosuggest for me and slide into my DM on LinkedIn and tell me “Hi Badiu” & get a response from me lailai especially when I know the gap between us in age is heaven & earth, that message will be there till the end of life.
I want to advocate for some second especially upper division who have put in the work, you should please consider some of us...
I personally have started preparing for study abroad since my 300L, and I am currently doing my NYSC
1. Have co-authored 3 research publications
2. Have taken over 10 relevant online certification courses
3. Have almost 3 years of direct work experience as I started working in 300L with other 5 years combined relevant work experience
4. Have 3 guarantee referree with others on the list...
5. Have numerous leadership experience and a few online and in-person conference attended
Without other achievements which I prefer to share in private
That's just me, there are others have even have stronger profiles, so, if you can reconsider the very serious second class students it wouldn't be bad sir
I totally respect your decision and not opposing in anyway, just appealing
