When Matthew Stafford joined the Rams in 2021, he lacked the individual awards that come with team success after wasting away in Detroit.
In 5 years - He has 2x Pro Bowls, 1x First-Team All-Pro, 4 playoff appearances, 5 playoff wins, and a Super Bowl.
Making his HOF case.
I still think Stafford should win MVP:
The most obvious reason -
Maye has played the #32 Strength of Schedule
Stafford has played the #1 Strength of Schedule
Great mic’d up moment: Philip Rivers made sure to find Dee Winters, who had a pick-6 on him after Monday night’s game.
Rivers: “Where is 53 at? Good play, man. You knew it from the earlier check?”
Winters: “Yeah, I did!”
Rivers: “Golly! Good play.”
Joe Buck made a great point during the game re: Rivers. The amount of people who have come out to laud, show respect, and share their own great Rivers stories the last two weeks has been a gift. This ride has been a Philip Rivers appreciation party; he never really properly got.
I wanna say something about Philip Rivers.
He hasn’t played football in over 5 years, he steps up in a role we have never seen. Coming into this job and immediately playing against the best defense in the NFL.
The next week having to play against the other hottest defense and offense in the NFL, in the 49ers. He managed to be the best player on the field tonight for the Colts, as a 44 year old that just took the job.
This story will always be remembered by me as a die-hard NFL fan, he played his heart out.
I hope this is a troll tweet. Cause there’s no way you truly believe the Colts win that game with Riley given everything you saw Philip do with the presnap stuff.
Delaying the biggest accomplishment of your football life by half a decade for one month of winging it around the yard, talking shit with the boys & showing all these young coaches they don’t know it all just yet.
real hooper.
