These new changes to the VRS are poised to have a disastrous effect on the NA scene that stakeholders need to address:
Essentially, the new Valve rule that tournament data will no longer count until the whole event is finished will massively affect the NA region as our sole significant Ranked event at the moment, ECL S49, will not conclude until after the invites for the Major/MRQ go out, leaving only qualifiers and two FRAG events as part of the dataset.
The effect of this change can already be seen as multiple NA teams have crashed in the rankings or shot up when we compare HLTV's live version from the 23rd to Valve's Feb. 24th Update:
* Marsborne: 24th -> 74th
* Vagrants: 26th -> 47th
* Bad News Capybaras: 38th -> 53rd
* Alter Iron/SEG: 51st -> 39th
Qualification to the Major couldn't and shouldn't be decided on qualifiers and two LAN events while excluding the region's most important event.
A potential solution for HLTV/Valve is to classify longer-term LANs like ECL, Eagle Masters, and CCT separately from ongoing tournaments, otherwise the road to the Major in my mind is severely compromised.
If they cannot do that, this change needs to be reverted.

I'm told FACEIT posted this in their developer Discord in September
- "While we are rolling out the system we will not limit the number of downloads an application can have. In the future we will restrict the number of downloads [...] any additional [DLs] will come with a fee."
Kappas! Pitkästä aikaa vanha klassikko.
Pääministerin kustannuspaikalta maksetut ostot toimitettiin viimein enimmäismääräajan jälkeen. Ne on tulostettu Excelistä ja skannattu paperilta. Eikä suostuta antamaan Excelinä "tietosisällön muuttumattomuuden varmistamiseksi".

Very, very often the dumbest possible solution is the quickest possible solution.
Don't over-engineer things. Usually you don't need to. And usually you won't get that time back. Simplicity has a lot of wins built-in.
It is more important for code to be changeable than that it work. Code that does not work, but that is easy to change, can be made to work with minimum effort. Code that works but that is hard to change will soon not work and be hard to get working again.
