@NewLowObserver your insights are always interesting. and yes, this is hiding in plain sight. however...given that many are buying the debt and CDS as a package, it is reasonable to consider the resulting systemic counterparty risk this creates. dumber things have happened in hindsight.
@OddStats people are starved for real life sharing. there are many 'why's at work. but posting data about this type stuff will get you a bigger audience for certain. the reddit old and cold is the proof itself.
@TheStalwart@BradBetsFooty yes, and fwiw - the origin of that lens: 1. public market seen as dumping ground by VCs. 2. awareness that a jim simons will beat them every time. 3. investing viewed as speculative - awareness of the impact of momentum. And little about fundamentals. Its wrong but not crazy.
@TheStalwart this is a managed decline in our standard of living. our tax dollars and deficit spend are poorly allocated. few policy ideas offered other than more taxation. as ben stein would say, it will continue until it can't anymore....
@greg_ip we needed a reset. markets have become pavlovian fed kremlinologists. now he gets feedback. he'll find the middle. but we needed a reset on 'guidance'...
@TheStalwart those numbers aren't at a level suggesting distress. and they likely have more to do with the hedging demand from owners of bonds who are inoculating where they can, as some 'private credit' books have few CDS choices to de-risk portfolios. nobody knows anything.
