WOW!
The Iranian AI Lego team has another video out. They are doubling down on building bridges between Americans & Iranians while depicting the US gov and "system" as the real enemy.
The music, lyrics, and imagery are all designed to appeal to disillusioned Americans.
🛢️ OIL & IRAN WAR CONTEXT WEEKLY 🛢️
Crude prices climb amidst ongoing deadlocked diplomacy, the third month of the Iran War, breaching the billion lost barrel threshold, and the UAE announcing an abrupt departure from OPEC.
Summary below, link to full report in reply.
We're actually really going to *need* a supply glut after this end to fill in the hole left by Hormuz.
Minimum 1 billion barrels lost, requires an *annual* surplus of 2.7 MMbpd to recover.
And that assumes Hormuz reopens today, which it isn't so it'll be bigger.
400 million more barrels per month.
GLPs are modern version of an ancient hack: reduce desire, reduce suffering.
Religions spent centuries teaching detachment.
Science just turned it into an injection.
How you spend your first 60–90 minutes sets the neurobiological "tone" for the rest of your day.
To optimize health, mood, and energy, you must align your morning habits with your body’s natural circadian rhythms and chemical processes.
1. Prioritize Natural Light Exposure
🔸Within 30–60 minutes of waking, get outdoors. Sunlight triggers a timed release of cortisol (the "alertness" hormone) and sets a countdown timer for melatonin production in the evening.
🔸View 10–20 minutes of direct sunlight (not through a window). This anchors your circadian rhythm and improves mood via dopamine pathways. (1/7)
Anantha passed away this morning, around 3 am on 18 April. He went away peacefully. An end that he had prepared himself and all of us for. Leading the kind of life he did and facing death the way he did should be an aspiration for all of us.
Ananthapadmanabhan Guruswamy would be remembered for many of his accomplishments and contributions: CEO of Amnesty International in India, the International Programme Director at Greenpeace, CEO of Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI) and the founder of Socrates. An alumnus of IIT Madras and a former teacher at The School – Krishnamurti Foundation India, he would be remembered as one of the most gifted and amazing minds that could think across fields and come up with out of box solutions. Colleagues in Bharat Jodo Abhiyaan would remember him as an unending source of ideas and energy for our work.
We met through his partner Kavita Kuruganti. Over the last five years, I had the honour of calling him my friend — actually, my guide and life coach. The beautiful way he embraced cancer and prepared for death has been a life lesson for me.
His body would be kept at home (#606, Petunia Block, Sankalp Central Park, Yadavagiri, Mysuru) till 3pm today before being taken for cremation. Cremation will be done at 4pm in Gokulam.
Alvida Ananth, as you begin your ananta journey. Till we join!
This is an astounding feat of reporting. It difficult to get any reporting from inside these rooms -- to be able to lay out the position of each player in detail & w/context, weeks after the fact, is next-level. Hat's off to @maggieNYT & @jonathanvswan

Those who pray are aware of their own limitations; they do not kill or threaten with death. Instead, death enslaves those who have turned their backs on the living God, turning themselves and their own power into a mute, blind and deaf idol (Ps 115:4–8), to which they sacrifice every value, demanding that the whole world bend its knee. Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life. #Peace
God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.
The US media's total suspension of skepticism is a story for the ages. For all the things said about Indian media & narrative management (they're mostly true), the US media has proven to be the Rolls Royce of swallowing narrative without question.
Lifelong curiosity often is rooted in mild paranoia.
Expertise often repels paranoia and makes people less interested in learning new things.
Those who don’t wish to be learning machines will find it difficult in times to come.
@tabassum_b Right on. And thank you for specifics.
Many meds and medical supplies are dependent on petroleum byproducts. I am waiting to hear about antibiotics too.
The killing of #Khamenei is not only an event. It is a signal. #Iran
When targeted force is framed as a “defining moment,” the vocabulary of international conduct shifts. Norms that once held the centre/rules-based order begin to loosen. When assassination is reframed as emancipation, the rules of the international system quietly mutate. What was once extraordinary becomes arguable. What was once taboo becomes tactical.
Yeats wrote of a widening gyre — a spiral in which order thins and the centre struggles to hold. We should resist the temptation to see this as distant turbulence. The spiral touches us too.
For India, the implications are immediate.
Energy (for India a good proportion)
passes through Hormuz.
Millions of Indians live and work in the Gulf.
Connectivity initiatives such as Chabahar sit in an increasingly uncertain environment.
Oil volatility quickly becomes domestic economic volatility.
Strategic autonomy, in such moments, is not detachment. It is steadiness within the gyre. It is the ability to safeguard national interests while avoiding alignment with language or actions that deepen instability.
India’s voice must favour restraint, sovereignty, maritime stability, and protection of civilians. The language we use matters. It shapes what becomes acceptable.
History does not announce its turning points with fanfare. Often, the spiral simply widens — and we realise too late that the centre has shifted. The real question is not who fell. It is what just became permissible. The global centre does not collapse in a day. It erodes when violence is normalised and language sanitises it.
We live in a hinge moment. The chapter on benign unipolarity is closed. We are climbing into rarefied geopolitical high altitude . The system is under strain . We can sense the compression and the margin for error has narrowed.
