Mobile Network Hacking: Reconnaissance on Your Local Mobile Network
Hackers can gather information on your local mobile network to:
1. Intercept Your Mobile Traffic
2. Track Your Location
3. Deny Use Access to the Mobile Network (DoS)
Stingray's are notorious for proving intelligence agencies access to your cellphone traffic.
Did you ever consider building your own?
Now you can!
Join our June class on;
Building Your Own, Low-Cost 4G/5G Mobile Base Station, June 16-18
You can use this cell tower (BTS) to keep your companies data safe from interception or use it as a cell site simulator (Stingray).
Part of Subscriber Pro and Signals Intelligence programs.

Bonjour is Apple's implementation of zero-configuration networking (Zeroconf) ; an open networking standard. In plain terms, it is a background service that allows devices and applications on the same network to discover each other automatically, without requiring a user to manually enter IP addresses or configure a server.
Apple quietly installs Bonjour on Windows whenever you install iTunes, iCloud for Windows, or Apple Mobile Device Support, all of which are visible in that very same programs list in the image. It's a dependency, not a standalone choice you made.
Without Bonjour, an application that wants to find a printer, speaker, or another device on your network has to either ask you for an IP address or maintain a central directory server. Both are inconvenient or impractical for consumer software. With Bonjour, devices broadcast their availability and applications can find them instantly and automatically.
Removing it can silently break functionality in iTunes, Spotify Connect, network printers, and various other tools. It runs as a lightweight background service consuming minimal resources, and it poses no meaningful security risk on a trusted home or office network. The confusion is entirely understandable; Apple installs it without much explanation but it is genuinely useful infrastructure, not bloatware.
When a USB drive is “formatted” or files are deleted, the data is not immediately erased. Instead, the file system removes references to the files, marking the space as available for reuse.
The actual data remains physically stored on the drive’s memory chips until it is overwritten by new data.
The IT specialist used data recovery tools to reconstruct and restore these residual file contents from the unallocated space. In digital forensics especially, this residual data is critical evidence.
I want to follow more Cybersecurity beginners and support them by reposting their content, sharing helpful resources, pointing them in the right direction, and making their journey easier and fun.

DEAD FORENSICS IN MOBILE DEVICES AND THE LIMITATIONS OF LOGICAL EXTRACTION IN COMPREHENSIVE EVIDENCE ACQUISITION
Logical extraction refers to the acquisition of structured data such as files, directories, and application artifacts through file system-level access and OS-mediated interfaces, rather than raw disk imaging or volatile memory capture. In mobile forensics, it typically relies on communication with a running operating system, where data is retrieved via system APIs, services, or forensic agents operating within the device environment.
Dead forensics is a branch of digital forensics in which evidence is collected from a device that is powered off. In this approach, investigators do not interact with a live operating system on the target device. Instead, data is obtained through forensic imaging of storage media, followed by offline analysis in a controlled environment.
In mobile forensic practice, logical extraction depends on the presence of a functioning operating system and accessible system services. As a result, it cannot be performed on a powered-off device and may also be restricted in live environments due to encryption, security controls, or device lockdown states.
Dead forensics, by contrast, prioritizes static acquisition from storage media, ensuring strong evidence preservation and integrity. However, it does not provide access to volatile data such as active sessions, running processes, or in-memory encryption keys, which may be critical in certain investigations.
