what time does the supplication find the greatest response?

He replied:

Supplication made during the middle of the last part of the night and after the conclusion of the obligatory prayers.

Shaykh Uthaymeen رحمه الله said,

"Do not despair, even if the answer to the Du'a you made is delayed. Allah has not commanded you to make Dua except that He wants to answer you.

So don't be hasty, wait, & continuously turn to Allah with Du'a. Perhaps Allah delays answering you so that you can make abundant Du'a and as a result, your good deeds increase."

Umar ibn Khattab رضي الله عنه said:

“I am not worried about whether my dua will be responded to, but rather I am worried about whether I will be able to make dua or not. So if I have been guided to make dua, then I know that the response will come with it.”

(Al-Awayishah p. 117)

Ibn al-Jawzi said:

"…I think part of the test is when a believer supplicates and receives no response, and he repeats the dua for a long time and sees no sign of a response. He should realise that this is a test and needs patience…”

[Sayd ul-Khatir, 59]

Don’t be hasty for the response when you make dua. Be grateful that Allah guided you to make dua and be patient. Be a servant of Allah safeguard your salah and pray on time and obey His commands. Increase your istighfar and earn halal livelihood. Be kind to your parents and siblings don’t cut ties with them. Be a person of tawqa and good character. Uphold the rights Allah has over you. Follow the sunnah of the prophet ﷺ and send plenty salawat upon him. All this will aid your dua to get accepted including guidance.

May Allah guide us all to what pleases Him alone.
