Just popping by to promote Autism Pride... This is an event I launched last year at UON with the help of the wonderful @Changemaker_Hub . This year we're going bigger and branching out into the community, with the support of NHFT and some amazing volunteers. Everyone is welcome.
@CharlotteJD Thank you! 💙 I had so much fun putting that together and secretly jotting down all of your best quotes during class. They still make me laugh.
@taneesha_jayne If you need a person, you know where I am. I really mean that. I'm always happy to buy you a coffee and give you a space to offload. Be gentle with yourself. 💜
@CharlotteJD I meant every word. You're absolutely fantastic and we all really missed you while you were on maternity leave. You remain the reason why so many of us have such a passion for psychology, EDI and intersectionality 💜... As well as tattooed bodies! 😆
(Neuro)Diversity is happening today at 1pm in LH227. The topic is "Surviving the Social Stuff". I'm already in the room setting up, so please feel free to come in early, if you would like a quiet space to eat/sit before we start. 😊
@NickCartw I've watched this on repeat for the past few minutes. It just gets funnier. Thank you for brightening up my Thursday morning. On a serious note, I hope you didn't get hurt!
Next week the 2nd (Neuro)Diversity session will be happening on campus. Due to room availability, please note the amended start time. We'll be discussing the social side of uni: extracurricular activities, group work and communal living, plus any examples you'd like to bring.
Today was the first (Neuro)Diversity for this academic year. We welcomed some new first year students and checked in with the returners. For more information, please follow the new instagram account (details below) or send me an email. I will sporadically be checking Twitter too.
I'm running an Experience Day for Young Carers at UON today. This is the 3rd summer I've put this on and it makes me so happy to see the support on offer for YCs growing each year. I'm really grateful to the brilliant @Changemaker_Hub for helping me to make this possible too. 🌻
Today was all about Autism, consultancy, advocacy and representation. We spoke about our transferable skills as Autistic employees. Thank you to @TerezaARead for always finding us such great opportunities. I also really enjoyed listening to the brilliant Tom from @cafetracknn .
@brgarrett@zoe_boyervp@bradshaw5923 Thank you Beth. You getting stuck in the doors and trying to tackle the ramps were, without a doubt, my favourite memories of last semester. I'm still really grateful that you gave it a go. 😊 Becky is definitely my favourite human right now!
McColls now has an automatic door. This is abolutely amazing and totally made my day. I might have cried a little bit when I saw it this morning. It will make such a difference. Thank you @bradshaw5923 .You're brilliant. I have already been in and out twice, just because I can!
@CSpalding08@bradshaw5923 Thank you Charlotte! I had the best support behind me. I miss seeing you at Exec and Student Council. I hope Zeus is taking good care of you. 😊
