@KhalilJeries No, he's correct. A true famine would mean tens of thousands of starvation deaths, and that just did not happen in Gaza. That doesn't mean nobody died of starvation, or that the amount of people that did die of starvation isn't horrible.
@Palestinia12961 I wish I could trust the army that it's "just" a horrible case of a panicked soldier genuinely fearing he's about to get rammed and shooting, but I won't pretend that this "I felt risk" excuse hasn't been abused to justify just about any killing.
@pixydus41606040 ???? How in the world did you get that out of what she wrote? She just says that a Palestinian state would be able allow Palestinians to move there, which, yeah, is kind of part of what being an independent sovereign state means.
@Kjell_Anderson What should be called out, is your revolting implication that the Nakba is remotely comparable to the Holocaust. If it is comparable to anything, it's to the ethnic cleansing of Germans in the tail end and aftermath of WW2. Fuck off.
@souljagoyteller Really? And I assume you also apply that to Ukraine and Russia too? What about undoing the "racist" division of Ireland from the UK? Surely the Irish could be part of a multinational British state?
@IanLotsanumbers@JewkBoxHero@souljagoyteller If we're talking about the very selective kind of history in which we pretend that time jumped from the Ottoman Sultan taking in Jews expelled from Spain to the 19th century and nothing else happened, I guess.
@IanLotsanumbers@souljagoyteller No, it doesn't. Which is why virtually nobody thinks that Germans have an absolute right to return to the Sudetenland or East Prussia, or that Greece violates international law by denying Cham Albanians or the Turks that were expelled a right of return.
@IanLotsanumbers@souljagoyteller Sorry, unlike you, I have no problem acknowledging that Israeli Arabs face discrimination and racism, if that's what you're trying to imply, even if it's not as bad Jews outright being an official underclass.
@IanLotsanumbers@souljagoyteller Oh, please do tell how Arabs rioting over the Ottomans being forced by European powers to give more rights to Jews was caused by "Zionists" before Zionism was even a thing.
@IanLotsanumbers@souljagoyteller You are intentionally confusing an immigration policy with an imaginary absolute right of return. Nobody would care if a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza didn't let Jews who descend from the old communities of those places to return.
@IanLotsanumbers@souljagoyteller No, I will not pretend that Jews need to be "pure" to be part of the Jewish ethnic group, just like Palestinians don't need to be "pure" to be part of the Palestinian ethnic group.
