@LeShuttle_Help there isn't much communication around the delays, we are sitting waiting to board and departure O has gone with very few cars moving from the lanes. Assumed we would have moved after the more recent announcement that boarding was starting, but nothing has moved.
@KenSomner@WestBerkshire From reading the school forum minutes, the money being redistributed is going to the high needs budget, not deficit schools. The high needs budget funds support for children with additional needs (some statutory and others non statutory -guess which will be cut, that schools use)
@RossMackinnonWB I would be interested to know how the special schools have built up the excess - previous minutes have indicated that some was accrued because of inability to recruit staff - does this mean that some pupils didn't have their EHCP requirements met?
@gfreeman2012 @SENDconsultant We moved them whilst we fought for EHCP'S or they would be going to secondary school semi literate with no/limited support in place. LA agreed to EHCP'S after 12 months, but named mainstream and poor plan, so we appeal, but at least getting an appropriate education and learning.
New term about to start - date for first tier tribunal 7 months away (2 whole terms) - 5% of my child's compulsory education time, to wait to fight for child to get an EHCP that fully addresses their needs and is specific and quantifiable #sen
@kelsreeves Exactly why appealing the plan, was written as "any staff member...." slight upgrade from adult working with ...." not smart, and could legally be a staff member who can't read any better than my own child. Have got them to agree to an LSA, with direction from teacher/sendco
Send your child to school to be taught by teachers - except if they have an EHCP and they can spend all their intervention time (20% of the school week) with any staff member (cleaner/catering etc) #send
@Hermesparcels why claim to have tried to deliver a parcel when you didn't or you attempted the wrong address - but no way to know as can't get in touch
@LeShuttle@SharonStocker10@northernburd We try not to travel on peak days - came back Friday evening to miss the French border controls, which are always slow - for this very reason - at least on Eurotunnel you are in your own space, much better than being stuck out at sea in a boat or on the ground in an airplane
@LeShuttle@ranil Having gone through today, at least there were lots of French security working really hard, that has not always been the case on other busy days we have travelled when it has been more frustrating with limited security staff not controlled by LeShuttle #startofterm#stayingsafe
@Foxrunners@LeShuttle Thanks Jo, really helpful as we are arriving soon so will take a short stop prior to check in and being in an area with no facilities
@LeShuttle Would have been nice to know before we sat for an hour in the lines waiting to board with 2 children in a small confined space and lack of useful updates. How many times do you think, when are we going to get on the train has been asked?
