Not having home field was the difference. Losing so many close games in the last two weeks sent them to a raucous and crazy Petco after traveling from East Coast to Southern Atlantic coast to West coast. So many things and injuries certainly came into play.

The Cubs did the same thing last year. They start all strong, than at the close of the season, they fade out, get into the playoffs, and lose. They need to have a more versatile bench that can help some of the players rest throughout the season, better pitching, and clutch hitters.
