For the first time in recorded history, more Americans are moving to 🇪🇺🇨🇭🇬🇧 EU+EFTA+UK countries each year than Europeans from those places are moving to the 🇺🇸 US.
The ratio was 4:1 in favour of the US in the early 2000s. It crossed parity around 2022.
This is new.
Sembra una foto di gennaio. Invece siamo quasi a maggio, sull’Etna.

@PaliparanDotCom Cool! I haven't used ITA in 10 yrs or so, I'll give it a try again. Using https://t.co/wxYR4N1FvW lately for the time filters, open dates and open-ended destinations, i.e. flights to W Europe, flights to Spain etc. Not as well-known as it should probably be. Happy travels!
@Porkchop_EXP You are so off on this one. What makes you think they'd want to leave Spain? do you have any idea what is the profile of these immigrants
@Jongonzlz analogy would be more accurate if you'd add that those cars clean dishes, help with cooking, deliver your food, take care of old people, pick up your fruit, etc. And also make little cars...
@DavidCoxRJ US poaching from CAN and generally the developed West poaching from ROW. In E Europe higher ed is virtually free and there are countries where as much as 20% of graduates leave for W Europe - freedom of movement under EU but very damaging to the origin countries
@DavidCoxRJ yes for that but also yes for some reimbursement, that's what most companies do. When a country hemorrhages talent I can see why it would want to protect against poaching and for Canada the TN Visa seems like an obvious net loss
@MostlyMonkey you had no choice but to obtain a degree below-cost because it's heavily subsidized? No-one advocates lifelong unlimited debt but some form of penalty against free-loading does not seem entirely unfair.
