@rabbriansamuel At some point God is going to commence w/ Daniel’s 70th 7, & the only acceptable prayers are that the flight will not be in winter or on Shabbat. In Dn 11:30 the ships of Kittim stops the AC. In 11:31 AC stops the sacrifice. I’m thinking the difference is the next administration.
@rabbriansamuel There was an old movie about Abraham (40 or 50 years old). I can’t remember the name. It was fairly unremarkable except for this one non-Biblical (yet Oh so Biblical!) scene. Abraham was teaching Isaac about sacrificing to the LORD.
“Isaac… it HAS to be a lamb that you love.”
@teekoe95@rabbriansamuel 2 Peter 3:8
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Isaiah 51 - In a prophecy concerning Israel’s future redemption, the LORD describes the nations who will come against Israel in this way:
“…. your tormentors… have said to you, ‘Lie down so that we may walk over you.’”
The passage as a whole contains warnings of wrath both for wayward Israel (upon whom judgment is decreed) and then ultimately upon those who took delight in tormenting her (as temporary instruments of divine chastening). The idea of God chastening Israel through wicked nations (while preserving Israel with a view toward final redemption), then turning to destroy those wicked nations, is a motif or pattern repeatedly found in the prophets, and it will reach its zenith in the latter days.
YHWH will finally redeem and restore His people/nation (v. 16, 4; Jer. 30-33; Ez. 36-39; Rom. 9-11, et al). In the end, utter destruction/wrath will be put upon their ‘tormentors’ (22-23).
We are seeing the ongoing demonic developments of this— 1) in the rhetoric of the likes of Candace Owens, 2) in the global anti-Jew protests, 3) in Islamic terror attacks, and 4) even in significant segments of Supersessionist Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestant evangelicalism. It’s a staggering time to be alive, to say the least. "Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus."
With a rather overtly diabolical energy, Owens perhaps unknowingly paraphrases the Is. 51 tormentors in her conclusion on this video, “On your belly, Ben Shapiro.”
Again, “Lie down so that we may walk over you.” (v. 23)
This is anti-Christic stuff. Shapiro addressed real issues of unrighteousness in the conservative-rightish movement in his speech, and the response of many (including Owens) was not a refutation of his clearly delivered points, but a torrent of actual cursing, dehumanizing and threatening, replete with revivifications of old-wives’ tales and Jew-hatred claims.
Well, saints, there will be an increase of this demonic rhetoric, I’m sad to say. But it behooves the Church to get Gospel clarity and biblical convictions as to how we ought to pray and carry ourselves in these days.
Israel and the nations must both be warned that the “wrath of God is coming upon the world,” and that only those who find shelter in Christ through faith will be saved from it.
That means boasting in the flesh, whether Jewish or Gentile, is a sure way to eternal punishment.
It also means that God has a stated and decreed plan, and it includes the preservation, ransom, redemption, and restoration of Israel. We’d better get clear on this, or the tidal wave of ant-Semitism will overtake a great many of our churches…. A great many of our children. It’s already happening in many places.
Paul warned the Church about getting this wrong at the foundational level in Romans 11, and it wasn’t long before Gentile bishops/theologians totally disregarded or twisted his teaching, effectively doing the exact opposite of what the apostle had commanded. This can be seen as early as the 2nd century in their teachings.
The church has often failed, through many generations and iterations of this— from the era of the fathers to the crusades to the pogroms to WWII to October 7th to the present, and much more in between. It’s a long trail of poor theology, hubris, cold indifference, and even vitriol.
But Paul is clear as crystal—
“I am speaking to you Gentiles…. [in the church]….boast not against the natural branches… Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
“and this will be my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”
As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” (Rom. 11)
We’d better get biblical clarity, prophetic wisdom, a better view of the Scriptural narrative (of the Gospel in relation to both of Christ’s comings), and a practical prayer and witness-life in relation to these matters.
This is not to affirm everything the State of Israel says or does. This is not to affirm the Talmud’s rejection of Christ. (In fact we mustn't. We cannot.) This is not even a defense of everything Shapiro or anyone else says (though I think his speech was basically a bullseye, as much as it could be without Gospel conclusions).
This is a call to 1) discernment concerning the issue of Israel, 2) to the knowledge of God and His will, 3) to prayer and Scripture, 4) to Gospel humility and clarity, and 5) to the mission of building up local churches and calling both Jews and Gentiles to repent and believe the Gospel.
Let us abandon the poison-fog of following and being tossed around by men and women whose throats are like an open grave. Let us return to Christ, to Scripture, and to the real worship and work of the Church.
The hour is late. The LORD is near. Let no one deceive you.
“Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning.” -Luke 12.35
@rabbriansamuel then by all means “take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew” who has also survived by the grace of God and has just seen Him “whom they have pierced” and mourned… by all means… go up with him to the house of the God of Jacob. (Ze 8:23; 12:10; Is 2:3)
@rabbriansamuel When Jesus returns, IF you were a true believer (no matter how basic), and IF you survived the great tribulation, your body will be changed into the likeness of His glorious body. (Ph 3:21, 1 Th 4:17)
If you weren’t a believer but survived (by the grace of God) then… 🧵
@quicklikesand What a great find @quicklikesand! It's kind of like CS Lewis' "Screwtape Letters", in that it lets you inside the warped mind of God's enemy.
You can be sure that the final man (mister 666) will not have the same 'misfortune' as his predecessor.
@ElifNull@B_A_Purtle Let’s hold off on sweeping judgments of those who are “enemies for your sakes, but beloved for the father’s sakes” until that fullness of the Gentiles, the FULL measure of the stature of the Christ has come. End of 🧵
@ElifNull@B_A_Purtle “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest YOU should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel UNTIL the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so, all Israel shall be saved…” 🧵
