@yatish_me I wonder which engineer has not been through this 🥲. There’s always the opinion of more microservices are better. Then the proponents jump ship, leaving you with over 30 services when you had just 3. 10x engineering, I guess.
I see so much FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) about the future of sw engineering, mostly from non-devs. Along the lines of “soon anyone can spin off AI agents in bulk that act as hundreds of devs.”
A false premise. Just open your airline app that is built by ~hundreds of devs.

A priest, a pastor and a rabbit entered a clinic to donate blood. The nurse asked the rabbit: “what’s your blood type?”
“I’m probably a type O”, said the rabbit.
More languages, more insights!
A few interesting takeaways:
* Java and Kotlin are quick! Possible explanation: Google is heavily invested in performance here.
* Js is really fast as far as interpreted / jit languages go.
* Python is quite slow without things like PyPy.
Just look at the sheer number of (very important) laws, policies, and measures that Ghana's ruling party wants the Parliament to reconvene for JUST TWO DAYS to RAM THROUGH! Unbelievable! Essentially, they see the Parliament as just a rubber stamp. If the Opposition agree to participate in this racket, it would be the clearest sign to voters that all their claims of being interested in change and improved governance etc are just a show. What a lark! 😡😡😡
Voice AI is absolutely going to be game changing. Typing is fine, but when you just talk to your device and get an instant answer back, it lowers the barrier to asking questions about anything. It’s the closest thing to sci-fi we’ve had in AI. 0 latency is the key though.

I don’t think it’s possible to make a compelling pitch deck for a consumer social app. Describing your idea with slides will make you sound like a mental patient.
Real investors know that if it works it’s because of 100 tiny decisions—not an audacious vision.
You’re better off just saying you’ve put together a great team and the company will be a product studio, where you’ll test a bunch of ideas and—oh, here’s one of them.
Heard all the hullabaloo about a monopoly 5G license having been issued to a one-week old company, etc? So that all telcos and ISPs will now have to buy bandwidth from it & retail? Well, here is the lowdown.

Christmas is a time when families get together and celebrate. With the brutal war going on in the Middle East, especially the death and destruction in Gaza, this year we get to Christmas with very heavy hearts and we share the pain of those families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. Please do not forget them and do not get used to their suffering. Merry Christmas.

Only in a country where the elites have vacated their gatekeeping role on behalf of citizens can a law saying that you can't import cars or clothing unless a committee appointed by 3 Ministers give you a permit be sent to Parliament in a fast-track form that allows no changes.🤦🏽♂️
Labor cost in coordinating freight is ~10% of the cost of international shipping. AI will make almost everything you buy cheaper.
Thanks to our new GPT-4 based copilot that Flexport ops tech team rolled out this week, a task that used to take operators 30 minutes can now be done in 20 seconds with a single prompt.
A huge number of similar tasks in freight forwarding will be susceptible to similar AI-based automation. We plan to knock them all down one by one in the months ahead.
