Secretary of State Jane Nelson announced that she would be resigning from her role - effective July 17. This is a concerning situation given that the Secretary of State oversees every election in Texas, and we are months away from the midterm elections.

Today the Supreme Court upheld Texas Republicans’ Congressional map designed to dilute the voting power of black and brown Texans. Our efforts to organize, turn out, and win anyway will not be deterred.
Greg Abbott claims to “back the blue”, but threatens to defund public safety if Austin, Dallas, and Houston don’t fall in line with his immigration agenda. At the same time, his voucher scheme is pulling taxpayer dollars from public schools.
Holding public safety and education funding hostage for politics is an abuse of power, and Texans deserve better.
