It won’t be long before a storm chaser unfortunately dies from a tornado.
The younger chasing community is literally infatuated with driving into a tornado for likes, shares and social media engagement.
No intercept is worth your life! #RespectTheWind
Weather balloons are not why you aren’t having successful storm chases. That represents a gross misunderstanding of meteorology. Radiosonde data is used to forecast, not control the weather. You need to understand the basic fundamentals here. It’s not hard.
The absent 12z soundings are a separate issue from your lack of skill and/or unwillingness to find peace in anything that isn’t driving your Toyota Corolla into a tornado.
Only you can guarantee a positive season for yourself.
@amarkowitzWX But expecting to see a tornado every time you chase is just not imaginable. Chasing isn’t Twister or Twisters. It was never meant to be. Many have an expectation of going out and seeing a tornado every time they chase and it just isn’t like that.
@WXPeterGriffin@VinceWaelti I made a blanket statement about chasing and immediately it blows up into something entirely different because some in the community want to make it more than it was meant to be.
Ya know…if people would just be grateful with being able to chase instead of pissing and moaning about not seeing a tornado, they would be much more content.
You’re not going to see a tornado every time you chase.
@Life_Of_Natt I get that. But continually complaining about something you don’t have any control over is not going to do any good. See old man yelling at cloud dot gif.
@WXPeterGriffin@VinceWaelti 2026 was never going to be a prolific tornado season going into an El Niño. Anyone who thought differently needs to go back and study meteorology 101. Would there be episodes of tornadoes? Yes, but more likely early. We saw that in April and as we progressed into May, nada.
We’re fighting the New World Screwworm threat.
We pushed NWS out of the US in 1966 — but for the first time in the modern area we have cases in Texas again.
This is a direct result of the Darien Gap being breached in 2022 thanks to the reckless open border policies of Biden-Harris that allowed it to SURGE through Central America and hit Mexico by 2024.
But we were ready. Since Day 1 under @POTUS:
- $1.3 billion deployed to fight NWS
- New sterile fly technologies
- Moore Air Base production facility ($750M) underway in Texas
- New dispersal sites operational
- Metapa, Mexico facility opening this month — adding 100 million sterile flies
Increased border surveillance, trapping, and targeted releases already in effect.
Farm Security = National Security.
We WILL eradicate this threat.
We are devastated to learn of the passing of Bill Cody, a cherished voice in Nashville and a beloved member of the Music City community. Among his many accomplishments, Bill served as host of The Music City Walk of Fame inductions for many years, and was honored with his own induction in 2024. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the countless listeners whose lives he touched during this difficult time. ❤️
