Every book in The Odyssey has at its core the theme of “homecoming.” Every trailer of Nolan’s so far has hinted the theme of “memory.” I am very interested to see how this plays out in terms of plot and character. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nolan takes a few creative liberties.
@SpencerKlavan Absolutely. Same @SpencerKlavan This week, we celebrate the myth, the legend that is America. Save the “well actuallys” for August (or never).
I have been thinking a lot lately about the particularity of the Gospels. It's there even in the Creeds. "Born of the Virgin Mary" and "suffered under Pontius Pilate" are crucial statements. Christ entered the story to bring salvation.
@michaeljknowles How do we as conservatives balance procedural and practical politics? Example: the WH needs power to get commie immigrants out immediately, but squishes will want a law passed in Congress first (never happening). When do principles become an ideology that hinders just governance?
“Odysseus made it home. If we chart the right course, conservatives will too under a rosy-fingered dawn.”
I am excited to share an article I recently wrote for The Daily Signal. Check it out here!

I am becoming more optimistic about Vance as the heir to MAGA. Trump's indispensable skill is that he was able to build a broad coalition that included RFK Jr and Mark Levin. Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson. JD Vance just made friends with Joy Behar. We might be in good hands.
@michaeljknowles made a great point today on his show: if you don't love America you should not be allowed to vote. It's not hyperbole. Even conservatives have this idea that voting is a basic human right. It's not. If you hate your country, you're not a part of "We the People."
@america People who think they are level-headed will say that American politics are no more fiery today than they've always been, we just hear more about the disagreements. It's not true. One side loves our country. One side does not. And that's not the sort of thing you make peace with.
