My dad called me today. Wanted me to help him get Signal on his phone. Immediate red flags.

Said a recruiter on Linkedin wanted him to download so they could give more details about an opportunity.

I looked everything over and sent him info on these scams.

With aging parents, it sometimes feels like a matter of time until someone scams them. I think most people know of a senior who has had this happen by now.

Late yesterday Grafton NSW, Stilton Ava was noticed to be unwell when retrieved from her kennel. Vet exam revealed bloat/GDV. She is now dead. No further details available on whether she died or was euthanised.

More details on these post-race GDV/bloat cases, as well as cases suffered off track, need to be made public. What is the survival rate of racing greyhounds compared to other greyhound/dog populations? Were treatment options available (likely expensive and complex) in this case and others found suffering after racing? And other questions that should be answered on the care of racing greyhounds.

Not sure if I missed this at the bottom of the Taree NSW post-race report last week or the "other matter" was added later. "Out the Will" finished behind the other greyhounds in race 9 at 9pm and then was found dead in her kennel cage prior to the 10pm Race 12.

She is number 5 yellow in footage, you can see her dropping back, something was clearly not right. How long was she left unattended in a kennel, was she being monitored? Are all greyhounds monitored closely after races?

She is still showing as racing on the NSW Etrac, like numerous other dead greyhounds whose status has not been updated. This means their death does not show on the fasttrack database

في عام 1983 ظهر مزارع أسترالي نحيف عمره 61 عام اسمه Cliff Young على خط انطلاق سباق ألترا ماراثون بطول 875 كيلومتر بين سيدني وملبورن.

كان يرتدي ملابس عمله وحذاء مزرعة، لدرجة أن البعض ضحكوا عليه، بعضهم قال له بشكل مباشر:
(ستنهار وقد تموت قبل أن تنهي السباق )

فرد عليهم:
كنت أطارد أغنامي وأبقاري أيام العواصف أحيانا ليومين أو ثلاثة أيام متواصلة، أعتقد انني أستطيع فعل هذا أيضا

ثم حدث شيء غريب، بينما كان الجميع يركضون ثم ينامون لساعات، واصل كليف الركض، ليلة بعد ليلة، يوما بعد يوم كأنه آلة لا تعرف التوقف ويأكل ويشرب وهو يركض، لدرجة أنه لم يتوقف الا لقضاء حاجته فقط

وفي النهاية أنهى ال875 كيلومتر خلال 5 أيام و15 ساعة فقط، محطما بذلك الرقم القياسي ومتقدما على أقرب منافسيه بحوالي 10 ساعات كاملة.
