Today’s media cheer against the US, overstate enemy abilities, understate ours and paint a picture that the US is losing, while we’re winning. It’s more true today as they cheer against Trump in Iran.

Within 10 days weeks of this 2001 NYT doozy saying our military efforts in Afghanistan were bogged down, the key city of Mazar e Sharif fell to the US and our ally the Northern Alliance, and Kabul fell days later.

This story was written a mere three weeks after our counter-offensive against Al Qaeda began. But that didn’t stop the NYT from saying we were already in a quagmire.

The media are doing the same thing today in Iran. From a military point of view, Operation Epic Fury has been a huge success. We don’t know yet about who will run Iran, but the press will always see America’s cup as 1/10th empty.

If today’s press covered WW II, they would have written mostly about civilian casualties, friendly fire, and failed missions, downplaying the overwhelming allied victories against the Nazis.

Today is the first day of floor debate in the Missouri House and Republicans rushed an abortion bill to the floor repeating Trump’s debunked lies about “killing babies after birth.”

I stood up and told the truth: It is already illegal to kill someone after birth in Missouri and everywhere in the United States. No state is considering otherwise. Fear-mongering doesn’t change reality.

I reminded them that Missourians already spoke loud and clear in 2024 when voters codified reproductive freedom in our state constitution.

Having a deep knowledge of the rules of the House, I motioned to send the unconstitutional bill back to committee.

Democrats face an uphill fight in Missouri, and we must use every rule, every lever, every tool available to stop extremist bills that ignore the will of the people. Republicans can be mad, but they can’t ask why. My community didn’t send me to Jefferson City to sit quietly, they sent me here to fight for them and that’s exactly what I will keep doing.

I was informed that ICE/DHS was touring a potential “mega detention facility” in south #KansasCity and decided to stop by.

As I was observing, from my truck at a taxpayer subsidized facility; I was swarmed by ice agents. They attempted to threaten to have me arrested for trespassing if I didn’t leave; however they blocked me in both the front and rear of my truck. I refused to get out until a supervisor came over.

I identified myself and my position, and asked what was going on. I confirmed they are looking to place a 7,500 bed facility in this or a similar building in the area from the agents.

Local Electeds must step up, and engage. We cannot sit ideally by and let things happen in our community. Today, I put my and my families security on the line. What are YOU willing to sacrifice for democracy in America? 🇺🇸 🇲🇽
